I recently took part in a book festival in Seguin, Texas, where I met some interesting people. One was an author who had retired from the military, had been in the police force, and now writes action books with a female protagonist as CID. I will one day get an opportunity to read at least one of his books, and I’m sure I will enjoy them.

But the best part, I met Parris Afton Bonds. Not only was she fun, energetic, sweet, friendly, and beautiful she was inspiring. To talk with someone who has made a career out of something she loves was motivating. She is the co-founder of Romance Writers of America, which I had joined just a few weeks prior.

She encouraged me in many ways throughout the day by watching her interact with people and her interactions with me. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet her. No matter how hard it is to continue pursuing this dream, I’m going to keep working.

Even though I didn't have print books available to sell I felt it was a successful day. I gave away at least 100 cards with QR code links to both books and know that I had sales due to my efforts. I have decided I should keep these cards with me at all times. I will continue this learning and growing process.
