Sometimes one is asked, “What is your favorite kind of music?” I never know quite how to answer that question. My likes are…eclectic. Spotify probably thinks I’m a little crazy; though there are certain songs I listen to more frequently.

Songs from individual artists are in a wide variety of genres. From Whitesnake to Creed; Willie Nelson to Josh Turner; Josh Groban to Michael Bublé, Luther Vandross to Aretha, Gloria Estefan to Mark Anthony, Zac Brown Band to Alan Jackson.

Recently I’ve started wondering if I have a favorite album. Hhhmmm, That is a little more difficult. Well, let’s see, Michael Jackson’s Thriller is just FUN! The Very Best of the Beach Boys, Sounds of Summer…Duh, Help me, Rhonda. Michael Bublé, Love. But one of my favorites is Steven Curtis Chapman’s All About Love album.

SCC is a wordsmith. His wife said this about him, and I agree. The songs on this album are mostly love songs, with Christian themes in the mix. The message of both together makes the meaning more expressive. All have beautiful lyrics. Echoes of Eden. Holding a Mystery. I’ll Take Care of You. When Love Takes You In is completely brilliant. Check it out! Oohh and also the lyrics to Miracle of You! Wow! Okay, I'll stop now.

I guess you could say I enjoy words. I like the etymology of words, the pictures they draw, and the emotions they convey. A picture may be worth a thousand words in some instances, but words are portable. They can uplift and strengthen while they help you create beautiful images in your head.
